LEBA is a professional, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of bloodhounds in law enforcement. Founded in 1998 and based in Colorado, LEBA provides beginning, continuing and advanced education to law enforcement professionals and their bloodhound partners.
LEBA's members assist law enforcement agencies who do not have bloodhound resources. All LEBA members are law enforcement officers, and work exclusively with bloodhounds for mantrailing and cadaver work. Please note that although there is a difference in tracking and trailing, LEBA uses the terms synonymously.
The Law Enforcement Bloodhound Association was registered in Colorado by a group of officers from several states, who felt there were not enough K9 organizations specific to bloodhounds in law enforcement. While there are numerous outstanding Search and Rescue associations, there is only one other police/sheriff associated bloodhound organization.
Our organization has members throughout the country in police, sheriff and constabulary positions. We include retired, and former law enforcement professionals.
The training offered is the most comprehensive and progressive in trailing and cadaver work with bloodhounds. Dogs and handlers are challenged in numerous scenarios. Our training is designed to produce dogs that can work difficult cases. |
